BRIDGE THE GAP
PACKAGE DESIGN
FALL 2022DESCRIPTION
Bridge the Gap (BTG) is a conceptual non-profit organization that offers affordable technology to
students and families in rural areas, where access to these items is often limited. BTG offers
three items: the Monster Sound™ earbuds, the Cobra Cable™ ethernet cable, and the Rocket Drive™
64GB flash drive. These tech accessories assist students in utilizing technology in
their education.
The package design of each item is clean, eye-catching, and playful, which follows the
established Bridge the Gap branding. They are inspired by children’s drawings with a classroom
look and feel, while also being easy on the eyes. The art is primarily line-based, using dynamic
widths, rounded corners and ends, and smooth-flowing curves. The main drawing on each package is
overlaid with the signature red and orange BTG pattern, which contrasts the blue and white of
the rest of the package. Despite the childlike mood, the ample white space provides a clean and
uncluttered look. Bridge the Gap’s mission statement is boldly displayed on the back of each
product to inform the customer about the organization and make them feel good about their
purchase. The back also features a table of specs and a bulleted list describing the product.
Unique die lines were created for each product, complete with a hang hole for in-store display. Each design also contains all
legal requirements for packaging sold in stores, including declaration of product, country of
origin, declaration of responsibility, and UPC.
A drawing of a rocket ship blasting off frames the Rocket Drive’s™ rectangular shape and has an
exciting and futuristic mood. A solid blue exhaust cloud grounds the design and blue
cloud-shaped strokes frame the logo, declaration of product, and 64GB size to draw attention to
these important elements. The themes of thrill, power, and fun inspire Monster Sound’s™ design.
The earbuds’ cord is tucked behind the monster drawing’s face, while the ends come up to
resemble antennae. Blue indications of sound and music notes surround the ends of the earbuds to
visually represent sound quality. The unique, three-dimensional shape of the package makes
product jump out at the customer. The most unique feature of the Cobra Cable™ box is the die-cut
window on the right side, showing the coiled-up cable, which, when combined with the drawing
coming out from the window, resembles the coiled body of a cobra. The length indication (14’) is
placed within a drawing of rocks with grass on the front and back.
